Spinnaker clouddriver and orca URL validation bypass via underscores in hostnames

    CVE-2026-25534 · GHSA-8r8j-gfhg-fw38

    Issue
Impact Spinnaker updated URL Validation logic on user input to provide sanitation on user inputted URLs for clouddriver. However, they missed that Java URL objects do not correctly handle underscores on parsing. This led to a bypass of the previous CVE (CVE-2025-61916) through the use of carefully crafted URLs. Note, Spinnaker found this not just in that CVE, but in the existing URL validations in Orca fromUrl expression handling. This CVE impacts BOTH artifacts as a result. Patches This has been merged and will be available in versions 2025.4.1, 2025.3.1, 2025.2.4 and 2026.0.0. Workarounds You can disable the various artifacts on this system to work around these limits.

Recommended action: Upgrade to 2025.4.1, 2025.3.1 or 2025.2.4 by release line, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.

Spinnaker vulnerable to SSRF due to improper restrictions on http from user input

    CVE-2025-61916 · GHSA-vrjc-q2fh-6x9h

    Affected

    Issue
Impact The primary impact is allowing users to fetch data from a remote URL. This data can be then injected into Spinnaker pipelines via helm or other methods to extract things LIKE idmsv1 authentication data. This ALSO includes calling INTERNAL Spinnaker API's via a get and similar endpoints. Further, depending upon the artifact configuration, auth data may be exposed to arbitrary endpoints (e.g. GitHub auth headers) leading to credentials exposure. To trigger this, a Spinnaker installation MUST have: An artifact enabled that allows user input. This includes GitHub file artifacts, BitBucket, GitLab, HTTP artifacts and similar artifact providers. JUST enabling the http artifact provider will add a "no-auth" http provider that could be used to extract link local data (e.g. AWS Metadata information). A system that can consume the output of these artifacts. E.g. Rosco helm can use this to fetch values data. K8s account manifests if the API returns JSON can be used to inject that data…
