Apache Qpid Python client Improper certificate validation

    CVE-2013-1909 · GHSA-3g2p-7c6p-vj8c

    Affected
    • PyPI qpid-python < 0.22
    Fixed in
    0.22· Vendor fix available
    Issue
The Python client in Apache Qpid before 2.2 does not verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary valid certificate.

Recommended action: Upgrade to 0.22 or later, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.
