    TYPO3 CMS - Unrestricted File Upload in Form Framework

    CVE-2026-15305 · GHSA-mfqj-cqv3-h7xw

    Affected
    • Packagist typo3/cms-form >= 14.2.0, <= 14.3.4
    Fixed in
    14.3.5· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Problem Users were able to upload files with arbitrary MIME types to forms using FileUpload or ImageUpload elements with allowedMimeTypes configured - uploading PHP files was not possible. The restriction was not enforced server-side because the MimeTypeValidator was registered during form building before concrete form definition properties were applied, resulting in the validator never being added to the processing pipeline. Solution Update to TYPO3 version 14.3.5 LTS that fixes the problem described. Credits Thanks to Sébastien Convers for reporting this issue, and to Josua Vogel and Oliver Hader for fixing it.

    Recommended action: Upgrade to 14.3.5 or later, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.

    Issue
    Problem Backend users with access to the Form Framework were able to use files not ending in .form.yaml as form definitions, which were processed without denying the incorrect file extension. Maliciously crafted form definition files can be used to execute arbitrary SQL statements, allowing attackers to escalate privileges by creating administrative backend user accounts. Solution Update to TYPO3 versions 10.4.57 ELTS, 11.5.51 ELTS, 12.4.46 ELTS, 13.4.31 LTS, 14.3.3 LTS that fix the problem described. TYPO3 CMS has Privilege Escalation & SQL Injection in its Form Framework

    CVE-2026-49741 · GHSA-jh32-v29g-68pq

    Affected
    • Packagist typo3/cms-form >= 14.0.0, < 14.3.3
    Fixed in
    14.3.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Problem Backend users with write access to the formdefinition database table were able to directly create, update, or delete form definition records via DataHandler, bypassing the Form Framework's persistence validation and permission checks. This allowed injecting arbitrary form configurations, re-enabling attack vectors originally addressed in TYPO3-CORE-SA-2018-003, including SQL injection and privilege escalation. Solution Update to TYPO3 version 14.3.3 LTS that fixes the problem described. Credits TYPO3 CMS thanks Selçuk Güney for reporting this issue, and to TYPO3 core & security team member Oliver Hader for fixing it. Resources TYPO3-CORE-SA-2026-017

    Recommended action: Upgrade to 14.3.3 or later, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.

    Issue
    Problem A vulnerability has been identified in the backend user interface functionality involving deep links. Specifically, this functionality is susceptible to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF). Additionally, state-changing actions in downstream components incorrectly accepted submissions via HTTP GET and did not enforce the appropriate HTTP method. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires the victim to have an active session on the backend user interface and to be deceived into interacting with a malicious URL targeting the backend, which can occur under the following conditions: the user opens a malicious link, such as one sent via email. the user visits a compromised or manipulated website while the following settings are misconfigured: + security.backend.enforceReferrer feature is disabled, + BE/cookieSameSite configuration is set to lax or none The vulnerability in the affected downstream component “Form Framework Module” allows attackers to manipulate or delete…

    Issue
    Problem Due to improper input validation, attackers can by-pass restrictions of predefined options and submit arbitrary data in the Form Designer backend module of the Form Framework. In the default configuration of the Form Framework this allows attackers to explicitly allow arbitrary mime-types for file uploads - however, default fileDenyPattern successfully blocked files like .htaccess or malicious.php. Besides that, attackers can persist those files in any writable directory of the corresponding TYPO3 installation. A valid backend user account with access to the form module is needed to exploit this vulnerability. Solution Update to TYPO3 versions 8.7.40, 9.5.25, 10.4.14, 11.1.1 that fix the problem described. Credits Thanks to Richie Lee who reported this issue and to TYPO3 contributor Ralf Zimmermann who fixed the issue. References TYPO3-CORE-SA-2021-003

    Issue
    Problem Due to the lack of ensuring file extensions belong to configured allowed mime-types, attackers can upload arbitrary data with arbitrary file extensions - however, default fileDenyPattern successfully blocked files like .htaccess or malicious.php. TYPO3 Extbase extensions, which implement a file upload and do not implement a custom TypeConverter to transform uploaded files into FileReference domain model objects are affected by the vulnerability as well, since the UploadedFileReferenceConverter of ext:form handles the file upload and will accept files of any mime-type which are persisted to the default location. In any way, uploaded files are placed in the default location /fileadmin/userupload/, in most scenarios keeping the submitted filename - which allows attackers to directly reference files, or even correctly guess filenames used by other individuals, disclosing this information. No authentication is required to exploit this vulnerability. Solution Update to TYPO3…
