The Tilt HUD HTTP server exposes state-changing and sensitive-read endpoints with no authentication. When the HUD is bound to a non-loopback address, a network attacker can trigger the developer's pre-defined Tiltfile resources, tamper with Tiltfile arguments, read full engine state including the session token, and reach the Tilt apiserver through a token-attaching proxy. Details The HUD server registers its handlers on a gorilla/mux router with no authenticating middleware. The cookieWrapper helper emits the Tilt-Token cookie but never validates it, and is attached only to the static-asset prefix. Impact An unauthenticated network caller can force any developer-defined resource to run on the host as the tilt user (choosing which and when, not the command text), set arbitrary Tiltfile arguments, disclose the session token and full engine state, and invoke apiserver resources via the loopback-token proxy. Because tilt up runs with the developer's privileges and credentials,…

The Tilt HUD WebSocket (/ws/view) is gated by a CSRF token, but the token is served by an unauthenticated endpoint and the upgrader accepts any client that omits an Origin header. When the HUD is network-exposed, an attacker can open the HUD stream and read the developer's session state. Details The upgrader accepts a connection when the csrf query parameter matches a process-wide token (websocketCSRFToken). That token is served as text/plain by an unauthenticated handler (WebsocketToken, mounted at /api/websockettoken), so any reachable caller can fetch it and connect to /ws/view?csrf=<token. When the parameter does not match, the upgrader falls back to a same-origin check that returns true when the Origin header is absent, so a non-browser client that omits Origin is accepted anyway. The token has no per-session binding. Impact An attacker who can reach the HUD listener can open the HUD WebSocket and receive the full view stream — session state, Tiltfile contents, resource…

The Tilt HUD server mounts Go's net/http/pprof handlers under /debug with no access control. When the HUD is network-exposed, an attacker can read process memory — including session and apiserver tokens — and hold the process under profiling. Details A blank import of net/http/pprof registers its handlers on http.DefaultServeMux, which the HUD controller mounts under /debug on both the web router and the apiserver listener. /debug/pprof/heap and /goroutine expose process memory, including the session token (also issued in the Tilt-Token cookie) and the apiserver loopback bearer token; /profile and /trace let a caller sample the process for an arbitrary duration. Impact An unauthenticated caller who can reach the listener can extract process memory — including the session and apiserver tokens — and degrade performance by holding the process under CPU profiling or tracing. The leaked tokens compound the missing-authentication finding on the same server. Conditions for…
