    SFTPGo has stored XSS via inline parameter on public shares and user file download

    CVE-2026-49245 · GHSA-3vcg-pv95-pq54

    Affected
    • Go github.com/drakkan/sftpgo/v2 >= 2.2.0, <= 2.7.1
    Fixed in
    2.7.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    The inline query parameter on the browsable-share file download and on the authenticated user file download suppressed Content-Disposition: attachment, so an HTML file stored in a share or home directory could be served as text/html and execute in SFTPGo's web origin (stored XSS). Impact Low. Exploitation requires the attacker to place the file and a victim to open the crafted link — a URL the WebClient never generates, so it requires social engineering — and the practical conditions are narrow: - Session cookies are HttpOnly, so the cookie cannot be read by the injected script. - Authenticated shares set their own session cookie, which overwrites the victim's WebClient cookie, no account pivot. The realistic case is a public share, or a folder shared between distinct users combined with targeted social engineering. It is a genuine trust-boundary violation (SFTPGo emits attacker-controlled content as active HTML in its own origin), hence an advisory, but the constrained…

    SFTPGo has path confinement bypass in public browsable share partial ZIP download

    CVE-2026-49244 · GHSA-h64p-8h4r-6gfh

    Affected
    • Go github.com/drakkan/sftpgo/v2 >= 2.2.0, <= 2.7.1
    Fixed in
    2.7.3· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    The public web-client endpoint for partial ZIP downloads of a browsable share did not correctly confine the client-supplied files entries to the shared directory. A requester able to reach a public share could read files located outside the shared directory, as long as the target's canonical path begins with the shared directory's name. Patches Fixed in v2.7.3. The fix replaces the raw prefix check with a directory-boundary–aware check.

    Recommended action: Upgrade to 2.7.3 or later, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.

    SFTPGo improperly sanitizes placeholders in group home directories/key prefixes

    CVE-2026-30915 · GHSA-m83q-5wr4-4gfp

    Affected
    • Go github.com/drakkan/sftpgo/v2 >= 2.3.0, <= 2.7.0
    Fixed in
    2.7.1· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Impact SFTPGo versions before v2.7.1 contain an input validation issue in the handling of dynamic group paths, for example, home directories or key prefixes. When a group is configured with a dynamic home directory or key prefix using placeholders like %username%, the value replacing the placeholder is not strictly sanitized against relative path components. Consequently, if a user is created with a specially crafted username the resulting path may resolve to a parent directory instead of the intended sub-directory. Patches This issue is fixed in version v2.7.1

    Recommended action: Upgrade to 2.7.1 or later, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.

    sftpgo vulnerable to brute force takeover of OpenID Connect session cookies

    CVE-2024-52801 · GHSA-6943-qr24-82vx

    Affected
    • Go github.com/drakkan/sftpgo/v2 >= 2.3.0, < 2.6.4
    Fixed in
    2.6.4· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Impact The OpenID Connect implementation, in the affected SFTPGo versions, allows authenticated users to brute force session cookies and thereby gain access to other users' data, since the cookies are generated predictably using the xid library and are therefore unique but not cryptographically secure. Patches This issue was fixed in version v2.6.4, where cookies are opaque and cryptographically secure strings. SFTPGo has insufficient access control for password reset

    CVE-2024-37897 · GHSA-hw5f-6wvv-xcrh

    Affected
    • Go github.com/drakkan/sftpgo/v2 >= 2.2.0, < 2.6.1
    Fixed in
    2.6.1· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Impact SFTPGo WebAdmin and WebClient support password reset. This feature is disabled in the default configuration. In SFTPGo versions prior to v2.6.1, if the feature is enabled, even users with access restrictions (e.g. expired) can reset their password and log in. Patches Fixed in v2.6.1. Workarounds The following workarounds are available: - keep the password reset feature disabled. - Set a blank email address for users and admins with access restrictions so they cannot receive the email with the reset code and exploit the vulnerability.

    Recommended action: Upgrade to 2.6.1 or later, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.

    SFTPGo vulnerable to recovery codes abuse

    CVE-2022-36071 · GHSA-54qx-8p8w-xhg8

    Affected
    • Go github.com/drakkan/sftpgo/v2 >= 2.2.0, < 2.3.4
    Fixed in
    2.3.4· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Impact SFTPGo WebAdmin and WebClient support login using TOTP (Time-based One Time Passwords) as a seconday authentication factor. Because TOTPs are often configured on mobile devices that can be lost, stolen or damaged, SFTPGo also supports recovery codes. These are a set of one time use codes that can be used instead of the TOTP. In SFTPGo versions from v2.2.0 to v2.3.3 recovery codes can be generated before enabling two-factor authentication. An attacker who knows the user's password could potentially generate some recovery codes and then bypass two-factor authentication after it is enabled on the account at a later time. Patches Fixed in v2.3.4. Recovery codes can now only be generated after enabling two-factor authentication and are deleted after disabling it. Workarounds Regenerate recovery codes after enabling two-factor authentication. References https://github.com/drakkan/sftpgo/issues/965
