    @conform-to/dom parseSubmission vulnerable to CPU exhaustion when parsing many unique form fields

    CVE-2026-49250 · GHSA-525m-7f82-2mf7

    Affected
    • npm @conform-to/dom >= 1.8.0, < 1.19.4
    Fixed in
    1.19.4· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    A CPU exhaustion vulnerability exists in Conform's parseSubmission future API when parsing FormData or URLSearchParams submissions with many unique field names. The parser previously looked up values by field name, which could require repeated scans of the submitted entries and cause excessive synchronous CPU work if an attacker supplies a crafted submission. [!NOTE] The patched version fixes this by iterating submitted entries directly instead of repeatedly looking up values by field name. Applications that accept untrusted form submissions should still enforce request parsing limits before passing data to Conform. For multipart requests, @remix-run/form-data-parser provides maxParts, maxTotalSize, maxFileSize, maxFiles, and maxHeaderSize options.

    Recommended action: Upgrade to 1.19.4 or later, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.

    Conform contains a Prototype Pollution Vulnerability in parseWith... function

    CVE-2024-32866 · GHSA-624g-8qjg-8qxf

    Affected
    • npm @conform-to/dom >= 1.0.0, <= 1.1.0; < 0.9.2
    Fixed in
    0.9.21.1.1· Vendor fix available
    Issue
    Conform allows the parsing of nested objects in the form of object.property. Due to an improper implementation of this feature, an attacker can exploit it to trigger prototype pollution by passing a crafted input to parseWith... functions. PoC Details The invocation of the parseWithZod function in the above PoC triggers the setValue function through getSubmissionContext and parse, executing the following process, resulting in prototype pollution: This is caused by the lack of object existence checking on line 117 in formdata.ts, where the code only checks for the presence of pointer[key] without proper validation. Impact Applications that use conform for server-side validation of form data or URL parameters are affected by this vulnerability.

    Recommended action: Upgrade to 1.1.1 or 0.9.2 by release line, then redeploy and verify.A vendor fix does not resolve your finding until you verify it in your own systems.
