Five packages (`camelotlabs-sdk`, `camelotlabs-core`, `camelotlabs-config`, `camelotlabs-worker`, and `camelotlabs-utils`) were published to the public npm registry at version 99.0.0 by the actor `madman0619` as a dependency confusion attack targeting the internal npm packages of Camelot Labs. The inflated version number causes npm to prefer the public malicious package over any internally-hosted version of the same name. All five packages carry an identical payload designed to exfiltrate credentials from Cloudflare Workers projects using Upstash Redis and HMAC signing keys. On installation the `preinstall` script executes `index.js`, which collects hostname, platform, working directory, and environment variables whose names match patterns for API keys, tokens, secrets, HMAC signing keys, Upstash/Redis credentials, Vercel and Cloudflare environment bindings, and database connection strings. It also reads and exfiltrates `.env`, `.env.production`, `.env.local`, `wrangler.toml`,…

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-4mgg-vrvh-32xg Advisory: Malicious code in camelotlabs-worker (npm) IDs: GHSA-4mgg-vrvh-32xg Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/mal-2026-3644 (revision 2, source checked 30 Oct 2026, 06:05 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm camelotlabs-worker: affected every version ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls camelotlabs-worker --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on camelotlabs-worker. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-3644 (OSV record MAL-2026-3644 lists affected ranges: npm camelotlabs-worker >=0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
