Its preinstall script runs `node preinstall.js` on npm install, which POSTs the machine's hostname and the OS username to the Discord webhook `https://discord.com/api/webhooks/1566215853794394162/xsqpEbSn-cc3DU2AKWdzqWnXX5hjTfV-gUePQZ4evrHGlZctMd40TKCrN42qnJd7moc1`. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm calculator-preinstall-hook-demo: affected every version ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls calculator-preinstall-hook-demo --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded.
