Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
atlassian-wallboard-plugin@10.0.0 uses an Atlassian internal-looking name with a high version number and has no code; its package.json declares the dependency node-ac2 as a tarball from the GitHub repository GamerD11/ping_test, which in turn pulls node-ac3 from the same repository. On npm install, node-ac3's preinstall script (`node index.js`) runs `curl -sf https://raw.githubusercontent.com/GamerD11/ping_test/main/test.txt` to get a host name and sends an HTTPS POST to `/health` on that host, with certificate checks off, carrying the Node.js version, home directory, working directory, platform and architecture; test.txt has named Burp Collaborator (oastify.com) hosts. It was published by the npm account knbbd, which used the same dependency chain in claims-ac1, and the same second stage appears in dependencykfeg and claims-acct-unlock. --- _-= Per source details. # Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-m4gq-5vx2-5x8c Advisory: Malicious code in atlassian-wallboard-plugin (npm) IDs: GHSA-m4gq-5vx2-5x8c Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/mal-2026-18437 (revision 2, source checked 3 Nov 2026, 06:00 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm atlassian-wallboard-plugin: affected every version ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls atlassian-wallboard-plugin --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on atlassian-wallboard-plugin. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-18437 (OSV record MAL-2026-18437 lists affected ranges: npm atlassian-wallboard-plugin >=10.0.0 <=10.0.0) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-18437 (OSV record MAL-2026-18437 lists affected ranges: npm atlassian-wallboard-plugin >=0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
