Source: amazon-inspector (06d1d7f624932b32c72ee705c215fadc8c0d4840b7102b390674f2df1fedbb92) Package contains only index.html (declared as main) and no JavaScript, no lifecycle scripts, and no other files. The HTML is a Cloudflare-styled page that fetches an AES-encrypted value from api.keyval.org under a fixed key, decrypts it to obtain a destination host, calls /api/strategies/check?cid=... and then redirects the browser via window.location.replace to a policy-selected target. The content is designed for browser visitors loading the page over HTTP, not for Node.js installers: npm install runs no code, and require() of an HTML main is a no-op or parse error. The package appears to misuse the npm registry as hosting for a traffic-distribution/cloaking landing page; any harm is to end-users who load the page, not to developers who install or import the package.

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-pr23-gvcv-c422 Advisory: Malicious code in cjlowuxbnexkhgpzq (npm) IDs: GHSA-pr23-gvcv-c422 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/mal-2026-18381 (revision 2, source checked 31 Oct 2026, 06:00 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm cjlowuxbnexkhgpzq: affected every version ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls cjlowuxbnexkhgpzq --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on cjlowuxbnexkhgpzq. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-18381 (OSV record MAL-2026-18381 lists affected ranges: npm cjlowuxbnexkhgpzq >=0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
