Source description

As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.

@dmangal/curse-dependent-ecto contains no library code (index.js in 99999.0.0 and 99999.0.2 only exports its name and version) and was published on 2026-10-28 between 21:59 and 22:19 UTC with inflated version numbers 99999.0.0 to 99999.0.2. It ships a binding.gyp (and package.json sets `"gypfile": true`), so npm runs `node-gyp rebuild` on install, and the binding.gyp declares a build action ("Finalizing ecto setup") that runs inline JavaScript with `node -e`. The script loads `child_process`, enumerates `process.env` (99999.0.0, 99999.0.1; found by a full-file static rule, the enumeration itself is outside the scanned excerpt), and POSTs data over HTTPS to webhook.site: path `/f604623f-fc78-4447-9225-6772f7f12cb1` in 99999.0.0 and `/89bd8fe7-328c-4e6d-970c-4d567b5a48a0` in 99999.0.1 and 99999.0.2. In 99999.0.2 the posted data is prefixed `SCOPED:` and the code that collects it is outside the scanned excerpt (it also defines an HTTP GET helper). The first endpoint is the same one used…

Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected.

Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed.

## Affected components
- npm @dmangal/curse-dependent-ecto: affected >= 99999.0.2, <= 99999.0.2; >= 99999.0.1, <= 99999.0.1; >= 99999.0.0, <= 99999.0.0

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- `npm ls @dmangal/curse-dependent-ecto --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`.

## Supported action
No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on @dmangal/curse-dependent-ecto.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.
