Source description

@walknpm/todo-cli@2.0.1 is a new release of a todo-list CLI and web app whose only change from 2.0.0 is a postinstall script, `sh scripts/miner.sh`, that runs on npm install. The script downloads a gzip carrier from amplify-gursha-dev-121835-deployment.s3.amazonaws.com to /tmp/.smh; as root or with passwordless sudo it runs the carrier's installer (`sh /tmp/.smi agent`), which installs an XMRig miner plus two helper daemons under random system-component names and persists them as systemd units or @reboot cron entries, and otherwise it extracts the bundled XMRig binary to ~/.local/lib/ / and mines Monero to networkservicesupp.flashhub.net:8443 over TLS with a hardcoded wallet. The npm account walknpm published the same scripts/miner.sh in dsh-plugin-blender-3d@0.2.1 within 27 seconds of this version on 2026-10-26, and it is byte-identical to the one in @sudobility/testomniac_client (MAL-2026-18129). --- _-= Per source details. # Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-p6gj-69gx-r376 Advisory: Malicious code in @walknpm/todo-cli (npm) IDs: GHSA-p6gj-69gx-r376 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/mal-2026-18320 (revision 2, source checked 29 Oct 2026, 06:00 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm @walknpm/todo-cli: affected >= 2.0.1, <= 2.0.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls @walknpm/todo-cli --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on @walknpm/todo-cli. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-18320 (OSV record MAL-2026-18320 lists affected ranges: npm @walknpm/todo-cli >=2.0.1 <=2.0.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
