Source: amazon-inspector (bdaf2231c55ef54e12dae1b21d66b26c516db292f26c753dcc49a62745eca4ea) The package ships a bundled UI asset at dist/ui/app.js in which the token 'ping' appears multiple times on a single minified line. No code path reads installer secrets, environment variables, or filesystem contents, and no outbound network call to an attacker-controlled destination is present. The keyword co-occurrence matched by the rule is consistent with ordinary bundled UI code (e.g., WebSocket keep-alive 'ping'/'pong' messages or similar UI logic) rather than a command-execution or exfiltration path. No install-time or import-time side effects, no lifecycle scripts fetching remote content, and no credential-handling behavior were observed.

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-fv2r-964m-pc2m Advisory: Malicious code in @seggy116/next-diff (npm) IDs: GHSA-fv2r-964m-pc2m Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/mal-2026-18200 (revision 1, source checked 30 Oct 2026, 06:15 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm @seggy116/next-diff: affected >= 0.3.0, <= 0.3.0 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls @seggy116/next-diff --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on @seggy116/next-diff. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-18200 (OSV record MAL-2026-18200 lists affected ranges: npm @seggy116/next-diff >=0.3.0 <=0.3.0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
