Source: amazon-inspector (2f2c1a511013dd65df6260ab26fef946005adb17532ab20070c95e1d5157608c) Package appears to distribute a platform-specific binary (frps linux-amd64) under a scoped npm name. Only two files were present in scope and no install-time execution, outbound network behavior, credential access, or persistence was observed. No lifecycle scripts, no fetch-and-execute patterns, no hardcoded exfiltration endpoints, and no reads of installer-side secret paths were identified. The package name and contents are consistent with a prebuilt-binary distribution of the frp reverse-proxy server for linux-amd64; the binary itself was not independently inspected within this record.

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-x55v-jc52-q424 Advisory: Malicious code in @pkgship/frps-linux-amd64 (npm) IDs: GHSA-x55v-jc52-q424 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/mal-2026-18199 (revision 1, source checked 30 Oct 2026, 06:15 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm @pkgship/frps-linux-amd64: affected >= 0.71.1, <= 0.71.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls @pkgship/frps-linux-amd64 --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on @pkgship/frps-linux-amd64. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-18199 (OSV record MAL-2026-18199 lists affected ranges: npm @pkgship/frps-linux-amd64 >=0.71.1 <=0.71.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
