The decoded payload opens a TCP connection to the hardcoded bare-IP C2 45.138.12.177:8089 and bridges it to /bin/sh via IO.popen and IO.copy_stream in both directions, yielding a full interactive reverse shell on the installer's host under the installing user. ## Affected components

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- RubyGems block-explorer-api: check the installed version with your package manager.

## Supported action
No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on block-explorer-api.
