@mrlegendbot/baileys is a fork of the WhatsApp Web library @whiskeysockets/baileys that silently makes the victim account follow attacker-chosen WhatsApp newsletter channels. lib/Socket/newsletter.js adds a startAutoFeatures() function (line 230) that is scheduled with setTimeout(() => startAutoFeatures(fullSock), 0) at socket construction (line 255), unconditionally and with no API surface exposing it. It fetches https://raw.githubusercontent.com/travatiger/MrLegend/refs/heads/main/Chids.json (line 236), parses the response as a list of channel ids, and calls sockInstance.newsletterFollow(id) for each one (line 246) on the caller's authenticated session, stepping through the list every 10 seconds (FOLLOW_INTERVAL = 10000, line 232). ## Affected components
- npm @mrlegendbot/baileys: affected every version

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- `npm ls @mrlegendbot/baileys --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`.

## Supported action
No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on @mrlegendbot/baileys.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.
