NotrinosERP: Authenticated arbitrary file upload leads to remote code execution via HRM employee "Documents" (doc_file)
CVE-2026-76913GHSA-qv4m-m73m-8hj7
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (notrinos/notrinos-erp 1.1.0), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Summary An authenticated user with the HR "Manage Employees" permission (`SA_EMPLOYEE`) can upload a file with an arbitrary extension through the employee Documents tab. The handler writes the raw client-supplied filename — extension intact — into a web-served directory with no extension, MIME, or content validation, so a `.php` file is stored under the web root and executes as code, yielding remote code execution on the server.
Details The document-upload branch in `hrm/manage/employees.php` (function `tab_documents()`) moves the uploaded file using the client filename verbatim: ```php // hrm/manage/employees.php -> tab_documents() (HEAD lines 597-602; release 1.0.0 lines 568-573) $upload_dir = company_path().'/documents/employees'; if (!file_exists($upload_dir)) mkdir($upload_dir, 0777, true); $file_path = $upload_dir.'/'.$employee_id.'_'.time().'_'.$_FILES['doc_file']['name']; if (!move_uploaded_file($_FILES['doc_file']['tmp_name'], $file_path)) { ... } ``` There is…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-76913 Advisory: NotrinosERP: Authenticated arbitrary file upload leads to remote code execution via HRM employee "Documents" (doc_file) IDs: CVE-2026-76913, GHSA-qv4m-m73m-8hj7 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/ghsa-qv4m-m73m-8hj7 (revision 4, source checked 28 Oct 2026, 06:30 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 8.8) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: notrinos/notrinos-erp 1.1.0. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist notrinos/notrinos-erp: affected < 1.1.0; fixed in 1.1.0 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist notrinos/notrinos-erp: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on notrinos/notrinos-erp. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-qv4m-m73m-8hj7 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-qv4m-m73m-8hj7 lists affected ranges: Packagist notrinos/notrinos-erp >=0 <=1.0.0) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-qv4m-m73m-8hj7 (OSV record GHSA-qv4m-m73m-8hj7 lists affected ranges: Packagist notrinos/notrinos-erp >=0 <1.1.0 (fixed)) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
