eZ Platform Admin UI Password reset vulnerability
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (ezsystems/ezplatform-user 1.0.1), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

his Security Update fixes a severe vulnerability in the eZ Platform Admin UI, and we recommend that you install it as soon as possible. It affects eZ Platform 2.x. The functionality for resetting a forgotten password is vulnerable to brute force attack. Depending on configuration and other circumstances an attacker may exploit this to gain control over user accounts. The update ensures such an attack is exceedingly unlikely to succeed. You may want to consider a configuration change to further strengthen your security. By default a password reset request is valid for 1 hour. Reducing this time will make attacks even more difficult, but ensure there is enough time left to account for email delivery delays, and user delays. See documentation at https://doc.ezplatform.com/en/latest/guide/usermanagement/#changing-and-recovering-passwords To install, use Composer to update to one of the "Resolving versions" mentioned above. If you use eZ Platform 2.5, update ezsystems/ezplatform-user to…

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-hfpp-2vhw-qq43 Advisory: eZ Platform Admin UI Password reset vulnerability IDs: GHSA-hfpp-2vhw-qq43 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/ghsa-hfpp-2vhw-qq43 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:24 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: ezsystems/ezplatform-user 1.0.1. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist ezsystems/ezplatform-user: affected >= 1.0.0, < 1.0.1; fixed in 1.0.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist ezsystems/ezplatform-user: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on ezsystems/ezplatform-user. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-hfpp-2vhw-qq43 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-hfpp-2vhw-qq43 lists affected ranges: Packagist ezsystems/ezplatform-user >=1.0.0 <1.0.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
