Nebula-mesh allows non-admin operators to disable webhook SSRF protection via allow_private
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/forgekeep/nebula-mesh 0.7.2), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Summary Non-admin operators (role user) can set allowprivate: true on their own managed webhook subscription (POST/PATCH /api/v1/webhook-subscriptions). No admin check exists on this field. At delivery time, allowprivate switches the dispatcher to an unguarded HTTP client, bypassing the private/loopback/link-local SSRF guard — letting a low-privilege operator make the server request internal addresses. Details internal/api/webhooks.go:67 (handleCreateWebhookSubscription) and :110 (handleUpdateWebhookSubscription) persist operator-supplied AllowPrivate with no role check — only ownership is enforced (canAccessWebhookSub), and that's not even called on create. internal/webhook/webhook.go:294-296: d.unguarded skips the loopback/private/link-local rejection config.ValidateWebhookURL otherwise enforces. Every other tenant-impacting toggle (network create internal/api/networks.go:21, settings PATCH internal/api/settings.go:36, CA management) gates on isActiveAdmin. allowprivate is the…

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-7rx3-5wx3-5v76 Advisory: Nebula-mesh allows non-admin operators to disable webhook SSRF protection via `allow_private` IDs: GHSA-7rx3-5wx3-5v76 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/ghsa-7rx3-5wx3-5v76 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:24 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 7.7) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/forgekeep/nebula-mesh 0.7.2. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/forgekeep/nebula-mesh: affected >= 0.6.0, <= 0.7.1; fixed in 0.7.2 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/forgekeep/nebula-mesh: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/forgekeep/nebula-mesh. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-7rx3-5wx3-5v76 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-7rx3-5wx3-5v76 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/forgekeep/nebula-mesh >=0.6.0 <=0.7.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
