kube-httpcache is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF)
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/mittwald/kube-httpcache 0.7.1), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Impact A request forgery attack can be performed on Varnish Cache servers that have the HTTP/2 protocol turned on. An attacker may introduce characters through the HTTP/2 pseudo-headers that are invalid in the context of an HTTP/1 request line, causing the Varnish server to produce invalid HTTP/1 requests to the backend. This may in turn be used to successfully exploit vulnerabilities in a server behind the Varnish server. -- https://varnish-cache.org/security/VSV00011.html#vsv00011 Patches This is fixed in Varnish 6.0.11; Varnish 6.0.11 is available in kube-httpcache versions v0.7.1 and later. Workarounds See upstream mitigation hints. References - https://varnish-cache.org/security/VSV00011.html#vsv00011

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-47xh-qxqv-mgvg Advisory: kube-httpcache is vulnerable to Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) IDs: GHSA-47xh-qxqv-mgvg Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/ghsa-47xh-qxqv-mgvg (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:54 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/mittwald/kube-httpcache 0.7.1. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/mittwald/kube-httpcache: affected < 0.7.1; fixed in 0.7.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/mittwald/kube-httpcache: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/mittwald/kube-httpcache. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-47xh-qxqv-mgvg (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-47xh-qxqv-mgvg lists affected ranges: Go github.com/mittwald/kube-httpcache >=0 <0.7.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
