Exposure of .env if project root is configured as web root in shopware/production
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (shopware/shopware 6.3.5.3; shopware/production 6.3.5.3), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Impact The .env and other sensitive files can be leaked if the project root and not /public is configured as the web root. Patches We recommend to update to the current version 6.3.5.3. You can get the update to 6.3.5.3 regularly via the Auto-Updater or directly via the download overview. https://www.shopware.com/en/download/#shopware-6 Workarounds You should always use /public as the web root. For older versions of 6.1 and 6.2, corresponding security measures are also available via a plugin. For the full range of functions, we recommend updating to the latest Shopware version. https://store.shopware.com/en/detail/index/sArticle/518463/number/Swag136939272659 For more information https://docs.shopware.com/en/shopware-6-en/security-updates/security-update-04-2021

# Patch Next advisory brief: GHSA-3pcr-4982-548m Advisory: Exposure of .env if project root is configured as web root in shopware/production IDs: GHSA-3pcr-4982-548m Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/ghsa-3pcr-4982-548m (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:48 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Unrated Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: shopware/shopware 6.3.5.3; shopware/production 6.3.5.3. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist shopware/shopware: affected <= 6.3.5.2; fixed in 6.3.5.3 - Packagist shopware/production: affected <= 6.3.5.2; fixed in 6.3.5.3 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist shopware/shopware: check the installed version with your package manager. - Packagist shopware/production: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on shopware/shopware, shopware/production. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-3pcr-4982-548m (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-3pcr-4982-548m lists affected ranges: Packagist shopware/production >=0 =0 <=6.3.5.2) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
