AdminNeo SQLite: multi_query Incorrect Check of Function Return Value RCE
CVE-2026-96634GHSA-p96f-p2p2-2g3h
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (adminneo-org/adminneo 5.5.1), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Summary This vulnerability is a patch bypass that exploits catastrophic backtracking in a regular expression used to filter ATTACH statements in AdminNeo's SQLite functionality. The original vulnerability (CVE-2021-43008) allowed authenticated users to create PHP files through SQLite ATTACH statements, achieving remote code execution. The patch introduced a regex filter to block ATTACH queries, but this filter is vulnerable to catastrophic backtracking. # Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-96634 Advisory: AdminNeo SQLite: multi_query Incorrect Check of Function Return Value RCE IDs: CVE-2026-96634, GHSA-p96f-p2p2-2g3h Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-96634 (revision 2, source checked 31 Oct 2026, 06:45 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 6.9) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: adminneo-org/adminneo 5.5.1. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist adminneo-org/adminneo: affected < 5.5.1; fixed in 5.5.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist adminneo-org/adminneo: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on adminneo-org/adminneo. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-p96f-p2p2-2g3h (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-p96f-p2p2-2g3h lists affected ranges: Packagist adminneo-org/adminneo >=0 <5.5.1) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-p96f-p2p2-2g3h (OSV record GHSA-p96f-p2p2-2g3h lists affected ranges: Packagist adminneo-org/adminneo >=0 <5.5.1 (fixed)) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
