Hatchet DurableTask WorkerStatus gRPC resolves caller-supplied durable-task UUIDs via ListSatisfiedEntries with no tenant_id filter
CVE-2026-88978GHSA-992g-9cr3-vm5x
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet 0.106.1), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Cross-tenant disclosure risk on DurableTask bidi RPC This is a low-severity, low-risk cross-tenant data exposure vuln caused by blindly accepting a durable task id, in addition to a list of node and branch ids that identify records in that task's event log, and returning them to the caller via the handleWorkerStatus polling path. Impact This advisory requires an attacker to successfully guess a durable task's external uuid belonging to another tenant. External ids are generated uuid v4s (uuid.New() in Go), so exploitation requires prior knowledge of a target task UUID through an out-of-band channel. Thus, while the following environments are impacted, there is an extremely low probability it would be exploited. Who is impacted. Any Hatchet deployment that hosts more than one tenant on the same instance: Hatchet Cloud (multi-tenant SaaS) Self-hosted Hatchet with multiple internal teams / business units sharing one instance Any deployment where a single tenant's API token can be…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-88978 Advisory: Hatchet DurableTask WorkerStatus gRPC resolves caller-supplied durable-task UUIDs via ListSatisfiedEntries with no tenant_id filter IDs: CVE-2026-88978, GHSA-992g-9cr3-vm5x Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-88978 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:29 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 4.3) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet 0.106.1. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet: affected < 0.106.1; fixed in 0.106.1 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-992g-9cr3-vm5x (OSV record GHSA-992g-9cr3-vm5x lists affected ranges: Go github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet >=0 <0.106.1 (fixed)) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6560 (OSV record GO-2026-6560 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet >=0 <0.106.1 (fixed)) - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-992g-9cr3-vm5x (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-992g-9cr3-vm5x lists affected ranges: Go github.com/hatchet-dev/hatchet >=0 <0.106.1) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
