pgAdmin 4 server mode has an authorization vulnerability affecting Server Groups, Servers, Shared Servers, Background Processes, and Debugger modules
CVE-2026-7813GHSA-h2x2-q2mc-24gw
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (pgadmin4 9.15), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Authorization vulnerability in pgAdmin 4 server mode affecting Server Groups, Servers, Shared Servers, Background Processes, and Debugger modules. Multiple endpoints fetched user-owned objects without filtering by the requesting user's identity. An authenticated user could access another user's private servers, server groups, background processes, and debugger function arguments by guessing object IDs. Additionally, the Shared Servers feature contained multiple issues including credential leakage (passexeccmd, passfile, SSL keys), privilege escalation via writable passexeccmd (a shell command executed when establishing the connection) allowing arbitrary command execution in the owner's process context, and owner-data corruption via SQLAlchemy session mutations. Several owner-only fields (passexeccmd, passexecexpiration, dbres, dbrestype) were writable by non-owners through the API, and additional fields (kerberosconn, tags, postconnectionsql) lacked per-user persistence so non-owner…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-7813 Advisory: pgAdmin 4 server mode has an authorization vulnerability affecting Server Groups, Servers, Shared Servers, Background Processes, and Debugger modules IDs: CVE-2026-7813, GHSA-h2x2-q2mc-24gw Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-7813 (revision 4, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 13:41 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Critical (CVSS 9.4) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: pgadmin4 9.15. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - PyPI pgadmin4: affected < 9.15; fixed in 9.15 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `python -m pip show pgadmin4`: prints the installed version. Run with the environment that serves production active. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on pgadmin4. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-h2x2-q2mc-24gw (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-h2x2-q2mc-24gw lists affected ranges: PyPI pgadmin4 >=0 <9.15) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-h2x2-q2mc-24gw (OSV record GHSA-h2x2-q2mc-24gw lists affected ranges: PyPI pgadmin4 >=0 <9.15 (fixed)) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
