SiYuan: Second-order SSTI to arbitrary SQL via attribute-view template column (queryBlocks): malicious imported package executes SQL on victim kernel
CVE-2026-72807GHSA-x67c-8pwr-m8g3
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel 0.0.0-20260723035036-0a176345e02a), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

CVE: This vulnerability corresponds to CVE-2026-72807. Summary Attribute-view (AV) template columns are live-evaluated on every render and expose the queryBlocks template function, which runs raw SQL on the read-write database handle (SelectBlocksRawStmt, using ?→argument string substitution rather than parameter binding). AV mutations are admin-gated, so this is not directly reader-injectable but it is a second-order vector: an attacker distributes a SiYuan document or AV package whose template column contains .action{queryBlocks "<arbitrary SQL"} when a victim imports the package and renders the AV, the attacker's SQL executes on the victim's kernel (read and, via statement stacking, write). Details Doc-level {{…}} templates are rendered at insert-time and become static, so they are not re-evaluated on reader view. The residual is AV template columns, which are live-evaluated at render. queryBlocks passes its argument to SelectBlocksRawStmt with ?→arg string substitution, not a…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-72807 Advisory: SiYuan: Second-order SSTI to arbitrary SQL via attribute-view template column (queryBlocks): malicious imported package executes SQL on victim kernel IDs: CVE-2026-72807, GHSA-x67c-8pwr-m8g3 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-72807 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:29 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 8.0) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel 0.0.0-20260723035036-0a176345e02a. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel: affected < 0.0.0-20260723035036-0a176345e02a; fixed in 0.0.0-20260723035036-0a176345e02a ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-x67c-8pwr-m8g3 (OSV record GHSA-x67c-8pwr-m8g3 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260723035036-0a176345e02a (fixed)) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6410 (OSV record GO-2026-6410 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260723035036-0a176345e02a (fixed)) - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-x67c-8pwr-m8g3 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-x67c-8pwr-m8g3 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260723035036-0a176345e02a) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
