SiYuan: Embedded (transclusion) block content is returned without publish-access filtering, leaking private and password-protected document content to anonymous readers
CVE-2026-72795GHSA-h6w7-xxcf-w2mq
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel 0.0.0-20260725125659-1ca1c3c9d94b), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
CVE: This vulnerability corresponds to CVE-2026-72795. Summary /api/block/getBlockDOMWithEmbed and /api/block/getBlockDOMsWithEmbed gate only the requested block against publish access. The blocks pulled in by that block's embed (transclusion) query are inlined into the returned DOM with no publish-access check at all, so a reader who requests a legitimately-published block containing an embed query receives the content of every block that query matched including blocks in hidden, forbidden and password-protected documents. The dedicated embed endpoint getEmbedBlock filters these same results for reader roles. The DOM-with-embed path does not. Details | Item | Detail | |---|---| | Routes | kernel/api/router.go:226 POST /api/block/getBlockDOMWithEmbed → model.CheckAuth → getBlockDOMWithEmbed; :227 POST /api/block/getBlockDOMsWithEmbed → model.CheckAuth → getBlockDOMsWithEmbed | | Middleware | CheckAuth only — no CheckReadonly, no CheckAdminRole → reachable by the publish RoleReader…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-72795 Advisory: SiYuan: Embedded (transclusion) block content is returned without publish-access filtering, leaking private and password-protected document content to anonymous readers IDs: CVE-2026-72795, GHSA-h6w7-xxcf-w2mq Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-72795 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:29 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 8.6) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel 0.0.0-20260725125659-1ca1c3c9d94b. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel: affected < 0.0.0-20260725125659-1ca1c3c9d94b; fixed in 0.0.0-20260725125659-1ca1c3c9d94b ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-h6w7-xxcf-w2mq (OSV record GHSA-h6w7-xxcf-w2mq lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260725125659-1ca1c3c9d94b (fixed)) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6425 (OSV record GO-2026-6425 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260725125659-1ca1c3c9d94b (fixed)) - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-h6w7-xxcf-w2mq (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-h6w7-xxcf-w2mq lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260725125659-1ca1c3c9d94b) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
