Siyuan: Authenticated path traversal in /snippets/ static handler (serveSnippets) leaks conf/conf.json secrets and siyuan.db
CVE-2026-59832GHSA-275h-v5h9-vr82
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel 0.0.0-20260704035520-68cc0f537dfa), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Reporter: Cavan Loughran, Celvex Group Inc. Summary ------- The /snippets/filepath route handler serveSnippets in kernel/server/serve.go performs a bare filepath.Join(util.SnippetsPath, filePath) on the single-decoded c.Request.URL.Path and serves the result with c.File(), with NO IsSubPath containment and NO IsSensitivePath denylist - unlike the sibling /export/ (serveExport) and /appearance/ (serveAppearance) handlers, which both carry IsSubPath, and unlike /assets/ (serveAssets), whose traversal was fixed in GHSA-p4m3-mgmm-c664. Because util.SnippetsPath = WorkspaceDir/data/snippets, an authenticated request to GET /snippets/%2e%2e/%2e%2e/conf/conf.json resolves to WorkspaceDir/conf/conf.json and leaks the kernel API token and AccessAuthCode (the same secret file CVE-2026-30869 leaked from /export/); GET /snippets/%2e%2e/%2e%2e/temp/siyuan.db leaks the full document database. Affected versions ----------------- v3.6.5 and current master (verified by direct source read). The…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-59832 Advisory: Siyuan: Authenticated path traversal in /snippets/ static handler (serveSnippets) leaks conf/conf.json secrets and siyuan.db IDs: CVE-2026-59832, GHSA-275h-v5h9-vr82 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-59832 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:28 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 7.7) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel 0.0.0-20260704035520-68cc0f537dfa. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel: affected < 0.0.0-20260704035520-68cc0f537dfa; fixed in 0.0.0-20260704035520-68cc0f537dfa ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-275h-v5h9-vr82 (OSV record GHSA-275h-v5h9-vr82 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260704035520-68cc0f537dfa (fixed)) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GO-2026-6350 (OSV record GO-2026-6350 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260704035520-68cc0f537dfa (fixed)) - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-275h-v5h9-vr82 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-275h-v5h9-vr82 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/siyuan-note/siyuan/kernel >=0 <0.0.0-20260704035520-68cc0f537dfa) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
