PraisonAI: Unauthenticated Event Injection via SSE /publish Endpoint
CVE-2026-57128GHSA-35w5-pcw4-jx94
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (praisonaiagents 1.6.59), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Summary The SSE (Server-Sent Events) server in src/praisonai-agents/praisonaiagents/server/server.py exposes a /publish endpoint that broadcasts arbitrary messages to all connected clients without any authentication. The ServerConfig dataclass (line 24) defines an authtoken field, but this token is never validated in the /publish or /events request handlers. Any attacker with access to the SSE server port can inject arbitrary events into the SSE stream visible to all connected clients, or use /info to leak server configuration including connected client count. Details Vulnerable code (lines 164–180): The authtoken field in ServerConfig (line 31): This authtoken is never referenced in any request handler. The /publish endpoint processes any POST request regardless of authentication headers. The /info endpoint (line 182) also has no auth and returns server configuration including self.config.todict(). Routes registration (lines 190–194): No authentication middleware or token validation…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-57128 Advisory: PraisonAI: Unauthenticated Event Injection via SSE `/publish` Endpoint IDs: CVE-2026-57128, GHSA-35w5-pcw4-jx94 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-57128 (revision 2, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 13:49 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 4.3) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: praisonaiagents 1.6.59. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - PyPI praisonaiagents: affected <= 1.6.48; fixed in 1.6.59 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `python -m pip show praisonaiagents`: prints the installed version. Run with the environment that serves production active. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on praisonaiagents. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-35w5-pcw4-jx94 (OSV record GHSA-35w5-pcw4-jx94 lists affected ranges: PyPI praisonaiagents >=0 <1.6.59 (fixed)) - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-35w5-pcw4-jx94 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-35w5-pcw4-jx94 lists affected ranges: PyPI praisonaiagents >=0 <=1.6.48) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
