PraisonAI: AgentOS remains unauthenticated after incomplete fix version and allows remote agent invocation
CVE-2026-57116GHSA-892r-p3jq-jp24
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (praisonai 4.6.59), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

AgentOS remains unauthenticated after GHSA-pm96 patched version and allows remote agent invocation Summary PraisonAI's AgentOS FastAPI deployment surface remains unauthenticated in current main and in releases after the published patched version for GHSA-pm96-6xpr-978x / CVE-2026-40151. The public AgentOS advisory is published as an instruction-disclosure issue with affected versions < 4.5.128 and patched version 4.5.128. However, v4.5.128, latest release v4.6.57, and current main still register GET /api/agents and POST /api/chat without authentication. The chat route directly calls agent.chat(request.message). No-auth and wrong-bearer requests both execute the deployed agent. This is broader than passive metadata disclosure. In any deployment where AgentOS wraps agents with tools, private context, memory, API integrations, or cost-bearing model calls, an unauthenticated reachable client can drive those agents. # Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-57116 Advisory: PraisonAI: AgentOS remains unauthenticated after incomplete fix version and allows remote agent invocation IDs: CVE-2026-57116, GHSA-892r-p3jq-jp24 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-57116 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 13:49 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Critical (CVSS 9.8) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: praisonai 4.6.59. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - PyPI praisonai: affected >= 4.2.1, <= 4.6.57; fixed in 4.6.59 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `python -m pip show praisonai`: prints the installed version. Run with the environment that serves production active. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on praisonai. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-892r-p3jq-jp24 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-892r-p3jq-jp24 lists affected ranges: PyPI praisonai >=4.2.1 <=4.6.57) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-892r-p3jq-jp24 (OSV record GHSA-892r-p3jq-jp24 lists affected ranges: PyPI praisonai >=4.2.1 <4.6.59 (fixed)) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
