nebula-mesh: Web UI and API responses lack security headers (CSP, X-Frame-Options, HSTS, etc.)

CVE-2026-47723GHSA-w7w5-5gcp-38rw

What to do

Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/juev/nebula-mesh 0.3.1), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.

This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description

As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.

None of the response paths in internal/web/ or internal/api/ set the standard browser-security headers. grep for Content-Security-Policy, X-Frame-Options, Strict-Transport-Security, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy returns zero matches across the codebase. Impact The admin UI signs CA certificates, mints API keys (returned inline once per page), displays TOTP QR codes, and exposes operator-management forms. Missing X-Frame-Options: DENY / frame-ancestors 'none' is a real clickjacking lever against an admin browsing /ui/operators/ or /ui/cas/. Missing X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff allows MIME confusion on any user-supplied content surface. Missing HSTS on TLS deployments leaves a downgrade window. Affected All released versions up to v0.3.0. Suggested fix A single response-header middleware mounted at the chi router root in both /ui/ and /api/ paths: The inline <script in layout.html for CSRF wiring (added in the CSRF advisory) will need either a nonce, a hash in CSP, or…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-47723

Advisory: nebula-mesh: Web UI and API responses lack security headers (CSP, X-Frame-Options, HSTS, etc.)
IDs: CVE-2026-47723, GHSA-w7w5-5gcp-38rw
Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-47723 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:23 UTC)
Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected.
Severity: High (CVSS 7.1)
Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV.
Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/juev/nebula-mesh 0.3.1. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed.

## Affected components
- Go github.com/juev/nebula-mesh: affected <= 0.3.0; fixed in 0.3.1

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- Go github.com/juev/nebula-mesh: check the installed version with your package manager.

## Supported action
Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on github.com/juev/nebula-mesh.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.

## Sources
- Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-w7w5-5gcp-38rw (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-w7w5-5gcp-38rw lists affected ranges: Go github.com/juev/nebula-mesh >=0 <=0.3.0)

Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
