Twig: Sandbox property allowlist bypass via the column filter (array_column on objects)
CVE-2026-46635GHSA-vcc8-phrv-43wj
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (twig/twig 3.26.0), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Description The column filter passes its input straight to PHP's native arraycolumn(). When the array elements are objects, arraycolumn() reads $obj-$name (and $obj-$index) directly, including invoking get/isset. Because this property read happens entirely in PHP native code and never reaches CoreExtension::getAttribute(), SandboxExtension::checkPropertyAllowed() is never consulted. An untrusted template author with column in their allowedFilters list can therefore read any public or magic property of any object reachable in the render context, regardless of the SecurityPolicy allowedProperties list. This is a variant of CVE-2024-51755 / GHSA-jjxq-ff2g-95vh that the ArrayAccess-focused fix did not cover. Resolution The column filter now routes object property reads through the sandbox-aware attribute accessor so the property allowlist is enforced. Credits Twig: would like to thank Claude Mythos Preview (via Project Glasswing) for reporting the issue and providing the fix.

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-46635 Advisory: Twig: Sandbox property allowlist bypass via the `column` filter (array_column on objects) IDs: CVE-2026-46635, GHSA-vcc8-phrv-43wj Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-46635 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:40 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Low (CVSS 2.1) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: twig/twig 3.26.0. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist twig/twig: affected < 3.26.0; fixed in 3.26.0 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist twig/twig: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on twig/twig. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-vcc8-phrv-43wj (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-vcc8-phrv-43wj lists affected ranges: Packagist twig/twig >=0 <3.26.0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
