Source description

As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.

Summary The upload-by-URL path did not enforce NCATTACHMENTFIELDSIZE against either the remote file's advertised Content-Length or the decoded length of a data: URI, allowing an authenticated user to bypass the configured per-file size limit. Details The attachments service now checks NCATTACHMENTFIELDSIZE against both the HEAD response's content-length and the decoded length of a data: URI body before fetching. The local storage plugin additionally sets maxContentLength on the axios download so a malicious server cannot stream past the limit. Impact Authenticated users with upload permission could attach files larger than the operator-configured limit, defeating storage and bandwidth caps. ## Affected components
- npm nocodb: affected <= 0.301.3

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- `npm ls nocodb --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`.

## Supported action
No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on nocodb.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.
