HAXcms createSite SSRF Enables Arbitrary File Read

CVE-2026-46393GHSA-q862-gcgq-5m6g

What to do

Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (@haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs 26.0.0), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.

This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Summary An authenticated Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in HAXcms allows users to fetch arbitrary internal or local resources and write the responses to a web-accessible directory, enabling arbitrary file read and internal network access. Details The createSite endpoint in HAXcms (v11.0.6) accepts a build.files parameter that allows an authenticated user to supply arbitrary URLs or local file paths. This input is processed without validation and ultimately fetched server-side using filegetcontents(). The data flow is as follows: - User input (build.files) is processed via objecttoarray() into a PHP array - Assigned to $filesToDownload in Operations.php (line 2626) - Iterated over in Operations.php (line 2730), where each entry is passed to HAXCMSFile::save() with bulk-import enabled In HAXCMSFile.php (line 30), the following occurs: Here, tmpname is attacker-controlled and may contain: - External URLs (http://attacker.com) - Internal services (http://127.0.0.1) -…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-46393

Advisory: HAXcms createSite SSRF Enables Arbitrary File Read
IDs: CVE-2026-46393, GHSA-q862-gcgq-5m6g
Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-46393 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 12:53 UTC)
Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected.
Severity: High (CVSS 7.1)
Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV.
Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: @haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs 26.0.0. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed.

## Affected components
- npm @haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs: affected <= 25.0.0; fixed in 26.0.0

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- `npm ls @haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`.

## Supported action
Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on @haxtheweb/haxcms-nodejs.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.
