Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Summary IsPublicIP in pkg/gotenberg/outbound.go incorrectly classifies IPv6 6to4 / NAT64 / deprecated site-local addresses as public IPs, allowing an unauthenticated attacker to reach internal destinations (e.g., cloud metadata services at 169.254.169.254) via a single crafted DNS AAAA record. This is a variant of CVE-2026-44430 (modelcontextprotocol/registry). Details IsPublicIP uses Go stdlib helpers (IsLoopback, IsPrivate, IsLinkLocalUnicast, etc.) to block internal IPs. However, these helpers do not recognize IPv6 prefixes that embed IPv4 addresses: | Prefix | RFC | Tunnels to | |--------|-----|-----------| | 2002::/16 | RFC 3056 (6to4) | IPv4 in bits 16-47 | | 64:ff9b::/96 | RFC 6052 (NAT64 well-known) | IPv4 in low 32 bits | | 64:ff9b:1::/48 | RFC 8215 (NAT64 local-use) | IPv4 in low 32 bits | | fec0::/10 | RFC 3879 (deprecated site-local) | internal routing | addr.Unmap() only handles ::ffff:0:0/96 (IPv4-mapped) and has no effect on these prefixes. On dual-stack or…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-45741 Advisory: Gotenberg has an SSRF deny-list bypass in IsPublicIP via IPv6 6to4 / NAT64 / site-local prefixes IDs: CVE-2026-45741, GHSA-86m8-88fq-xfxp Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-45741 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:23 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 7.5) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/gotenberg/gotenberg/v8: affected <= 8.32.0 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/gotenberg/gotenberg/v8: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/gotenberg/gotenberg/v8. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-86m8-88fq-xfxp (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-86m8-88fq-xfxp lists affected ranges: Go github.com/gotenberg/gotenberg/v8 >=0 <=8.32.0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
