Summary An authenticated user can perform Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) by creating a cluster node pointing to an arbitrary internal URL and then sending API requests with the X-Node-ID header. The Proxy middleware forwards these requests to the attacker-specified internal address, bypassing network segmentation and enabling access to services bound to localhost or internal networks. Details The nginx-ui Proxy middleware (internal/middleware/proxy.go) intercepts API requests containing an X-Node-ID header and forwards them to the URL of the corresponding cluster node. An attacker can: 1. Read the nodesecret from GET /api/settings (accessible to any authenticated user) 2. Create a cluster node via POST /api/nodes pointing to any internal URL: 3. Send any API request with the X-Node-ID header set to the created node's ID: 4. The Proxy middleware forwards this request to http://127.0.0.1:51820/api/settings, making a server-side request to the internal address. Vulnerable code path:…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-44015 Advisory: Nginx-UI has Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) via Cluster Proxy Middleware that Allows Access to Internal Services IDs: CVE-2026-44015, GHSA-wr32-99hh-6f35 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-44015 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:20 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 8.5) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI: affected <= 2.3.4 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-wr32-99hh-6f35 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-wr32-99hh-6f35 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/0xJacky/Nginx-UI >=0 <=2.3.4) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
