Saltcorn: SQL Injection via Unparameterized Sync Endpoints (maxLoadedId)
CVE-2026-41478GHSA-jp74-mfrx-3qvh
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (@saltcorn/server 1.6.0-beta.5, 1.5.6, 1.4.6), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Summary A critical SQL injection vulnerability in Saltcorn’s mobile-sync routes allows any authenticated low-privilege user with read access to at least one table to inject arbitrary SQL through sync parameters. This can lead to full database exfiltration, including admin password hashes and configuration secrets, and may also enable database modification or destruction depending on the backend. Details The issue affects the mobile-sync endpoints: - POST /sync/loadchanges - POST /sync/deletes According to the provided analysis, user-controlled values from the request body are interpolated directly into SQL template literals without parameterization, type enforcement, or sanitization. In particular, req.body.syncInfos[tableName].maxLoadedId is embedded into SQL in getSyncRows() and timestamp-derived values are similarly interpolated in getDelRows(). Relevant vulnerable code paths include: - packages/server/routes/sync.js — getSyncRows() - branch using where…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-41478 Advisory: Saltcorn: SQL Injection via Unparameterized Sync Endpoints (maxLoadedId) IDs: CVE-2026-41478, GHSA-jp74-mfrx-3qvh Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-41478 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 12:51 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Critical (CVSS 9.9) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: @saltcorn/server 1.6.0-beta.5, 1.5.6, 1.4.6. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm @saltcorn/server: affected < 1.4.6; >= 1.5.0-beta.0, < 1.5.6; >= 1.6.0-alpha.0, < 1.6.0-beta.5; fixed in 1.6.0-beta.5, 1.4.6, 1.5.6 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls @saltcorn/server --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on @saltcorn/server. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-jp74-mfrx-3qvh (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-jp74-mfrx-3qvh lists affected ranges: npm @saltcorn/server >=0 =1.5.0-beta.0 =1.6.0-alpha.0 <1.6.0-beta.5) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-jp74-mfrx-3qvh (OSV record GHSA-jp74-mfrx-3qvh lists affected ranges: npm @saltcorn/server >=0 =1.5.0-beta.0 =1.6.0-alpha.0 <1.6.0-beta.5 (fixed)) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
