Admidio allows Unauthenticated Access to Role-Restricted documents via neutralized .htaccess
CVE-2026-34381GHSA-7fh7-8xqm-3g88
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (admidio/admidio 5.0.8), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Summary Admidio relies on admmyfiles/.htaccess to deny direct HTTP access to uploaded documents. The Docker image ships with AllowOverride None in the Apache configuration, which causes Apache to silently ignore all .htaccess files. As a result, any file uploaded to the documents module regardless of the role-based permissions configured in the UI, is directly accessible over HTTP without authentication by anyone who knows the file path. The file path is disclosed in the upload response JSON. --- Root Cause File 1: Intended protection (ignored): admmyfiles/.htaccess <img width="408" height="403" alt="imagen" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/95f0d389-a1a9-4dc4-9840-7f189d2c58ff" / File 2: Apache config that neutralizes it: Command in order to search in Docker container: docker exec admidio-sec-app cat /etc/apache2/apache2.conf /etc/apache2/apache2.conf (Docker image) <img width="492" height="328" alt="imagen"…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-34381 Advisory: Admidio allows Unauthenticated Access to Role-Restricted documents via neutralized .htaccess IDs: CVE-2026-34381, GHSA-7fh7-8xqm-3g88 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-34381 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:39 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 7.5) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: admidio/admidio 5.0.8. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist admidio/admidio: affected >= 5.0.0, < 5.0.8; fixed in 5.0.8 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist admidio/admidio: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on admidio/admidio. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-7fh7-8xqm-3g88 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-7fh7-8xqm-3g88 lists affected ranges: Packagist admidio/admidio >=5.0.0 <5.0.8) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
