Summary /objects/encryptPass.json.php exposes the application's password hashing algorithm to any unauthenticated user. An attacker can submit arbitrary passwords and receive their hashed equivalents, enabling offline password cracking against leaked database hashes. Details File: objects/encryptPass.json.php No authentication is required. The encryptPassword() function in objects/functions.php (line ~2101) uses: By default, salt is NOT enabled (encryptPasswordsWithSalt is off), making the hash deterministic and identical to what's stored in the database. PoC If an attacker obtains password hashes from the database (via SQL injection, backup exposure, etc.), they can instantly crack them by comparing against pre-computed hashes from this endpoint. Impact Password Cracking Acceleration — This endpoint eliminates the need for an attacker to reverse-engineer the hashing algorithm. Combined with the weak hash chain (md5+whirlpool+sha1, no salt by default), an attacker with access to…

This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 5.3) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist wwbn/avideo: affected <= 25.0 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist wwbn/avideo: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on wwbn/avideo. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-px7x-gq96-rmp5 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-px7x-gq96-rmp5 lists affected ranges: Packagist wwbn/avideo >=0 <=25.0) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
