Craft Commerce hasVariant/hasProduct Blind SQL Injection

CVE-2026-32272GHSA-r54v-qq87-px5r

What to do

Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (craftcms/commerce 5.6.0), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.

This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description

As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.

Overview Craft Commerce’s ProductQuery::hasVariant and VariantQuery::hasProduct properties bypass the unset() blocklist added to ElementIndexesController in GHSA-2453-mppf-46cj. The blocklist only strips top-level Yii2 Query properties (where, orderBy, etc.), but hasVariant and hasProduct pass through untouched. Internally, these properties call Craft::configure() on a subquery without sanitization, re-introducing SQL injection via criteria[hasVariant][where]=INJECTEDSQL. An authenticated control panel user can perform boolean-based blind SQL injection through the patched ElementIndexesController and extract arbitrary database contents. Impact Full database read access via blind SQL injection Privilege escalation via security key extraction → forged admin sessions Prerequisites Authenticated control panel user Commerce plugin installed Products with variants in the database

Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: craftcms/commerce 5.6.0. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed.

## Affected components
- Packagist craftcms/commerce: affected >= 5.0.0, < 5.6.0; fixed in 5.6.0

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- Packagist craftcms/commerce: check the installed version with your package manager.

## Supported action
Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on craftcms/commerce.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.
