Copyparty ftp/sftp: Sharing a single file did not fully restrict source-folder access
CVE-2026-32108GHSA-67rw-2x62-mqqm
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (copyparty 1.20.12), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
There was a missing permission-check in the shares feature (the shr global-option). This vulnerability only applies in the following scenario: The shares feature is used for the specific purpose of creating a share of just a single file inside a folder Either the FTP or SFTP server is enabled, and also made publically accessible If a share is password-protected, then SFTP was not vulnerable unless the sftp-pw global-option was also enabled Given these conditions, when a user is browsing a share through either FTP or SFTP (not http or https), they can gain read-access to the remaining files inside the shared folder by guessing/bruteforcing the filenames. It was not possible to descend into subdirectories in this manner; only the sibling files were accessible. This issue did not affect filekeys or dirkeys. This vulnerability is CVE-2025-58753 which was previously fixed for HTTP and HTTPS, but not for FTP. The FTPS server did not yet exist at that time.

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-32108 Advisory: Copyparty ftp/sftp: Sharing a single file did not fully restrict source-folder access IDs: CVE-2026-32108, GHSA-67rw-2x62-mqqm Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-32108 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 13:42 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Low (CVSS 2.3) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: copyparty 1.20.12. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - PyPI copyparty: affected < 1.20.12; fixed in 1.20.12 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `python -m pip show copyparty`: prints the installed version. Run with the environment that serves production active. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on copyparty. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-67rw-2x62-mqqm (OSV record GHSA-67rw-2x62-mqqm lists affected ranges: PyPI copyparty >=0 <1.20.12 (fixed)) - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-67rw-2x62-mqqm (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-67rw-2x62-mqqm lists affected ranges: PyPI copyparty >=0 <1.20.12) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
