Craft Commerce has multiple Stored XSS in Commerce Inventory Page, Leading to Session Hijacking

CVE-2026-29175GHSA-cfpv-rmpf-f624

What to do

Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (craftcms/commerce 5.5.3), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.

This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description

As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.

Summary Stored XSS vulnerabilities exist in the Commerce Inventory page. The Product Title, Variant Title, and Variant SKU fields are rendered without proper HTML escaping, allowing an attacker to execute arbitrary JavaScript when any user (including administrators) views the inventory management page. This vulnerability enables session hijacking by fetching the PHP Info utility page, which displays unmasked session cookies. Unlike other XSS chains that require elevated sessions, this attack provides instant access to the victim’s session - no additional user interaction or elevated session approval required. Proof of Concept Permissions Required - Access the control panel - Access Craft Commerce - Create/Edit products Steps to Reproduce 1. Log in to the control panel 2. Navigate to Commerce → Products 3. Add a new product and set the Title field to: (replace https://attacker.com) 4. Save the product 5. Navigate to Commerce → Inventory (/admin/commerce/inventory) 6. XSS executes,…

Severity: High (CVSS 8.6)
Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV.
Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: craftcms/commerce 5.5.3. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed.

## Affected components
- Packagist craftcms/commerce: affected >= 5.0.0, <= 5.5.2; fixed in 5.5.3

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- Packagist craftcms/commerce: check the installed version with your package manager.

## Supported action
Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on craftcms/commerce.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.

## Sources
- Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-cfpv-rmpf-f624 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-cfpv-rmpf-f624 lists affected ranges: Packagist craftcms/commerce >=5.0.0 <=5.5.2)

Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
