New API has an SQL LIKE Wildcard Injection DoS via Token Search

CVE-2026-25591GHSA-w6x6-9fp7-fqm4

What to do

Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (github.com/QuantumNous/new-api 0.10.8-alpha.10), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.

This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description

As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.

Summary A SQL LIKE wildcard injection vulnerability in the /api/token/search endpoint allows authenticated users to cause Denial of Service through resource exhaustion by crafting malicious search patterns. Details The token search endpoint accepts user-supplied keyword and token parameters that are directly concatenated into SQL LIKE clauses without escaping wildcard characters (%, ). This allows attackers to inject patterns that trigger expensive database queries. Vulnerable Code File: model/token.go:70 PoC After creating over 2 million tokens, creating millions token entries is not difficult, because the rate limiting only applies to IP addresses, so multiple IP addresses can share one session, allowing for the creation of an unlimited number of tokens in batches. <img width="1636" height="659" alt="image" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/55e63dcd-884d-41bc-9bea-4300ba1b50c6" / These data are not all loaded at once under normal circumstances, as shown in the image,…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-25591

Advisory: New API has an SQL LIKE Wildcard Injection DoS via Token Search
IDs: CVE-2026-25591, GHSA-w6x6-9fp7-fqm4
Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-25591 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:14 UTC)
Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected.
Severity: High (CVSS 7.1)
Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV.
Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: github.com/QuantumNous/new-api 0.10.8-alpha.10. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed.

## Affected components
- Go github.com/QuantumNous/new-api: affected < 0.10.8-alpha.10; fixed in 0.10.8-alpha.10

## Suggested inspection (read-only)
- Go github.com/QuantumNous/new-api: check the installed version with your package manager.

## Supported action
Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version.

## Required regression checks
- Run the test suite and a production build.
- Exercise the features that depend on github.com/QuantumNous/new-api.
- Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed.

## Rollback considerations
- Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward.

## Unresolved questions
- Which deployments run an affected version?
- Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority.
- Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production.
