Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Impact Gin-vue-admin <= v2.8.7 has a path traversal vulnerability in the breakpoint resume upload functionality. Attacker can upload any files on any directory. Path traversal vulnerabilities occur when a web application accepts user-supplied file paths without proper validation, allowing attackers to access or write files outside the intended directory. In the breakpointcontinue.go file, the MakeFile function accepts a fileName parameter through the /fileUploadAndDownload/breakpointContinueFinish API endpoint and directly concatenates it with the base directory path (./fileDir/) using os.OpenFile() without any validation for directory traversal sequences (e.g., ../). Notably, while the related makeFileContent function in the same file properly validates the fileName parameter by checking for .. sequences, the MakeFile function lacks this security control, indicating an inconsistent security implementation. An attacker with file upload privileges (role ID 888 - super administrator)…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-22786 Advisory: Gin-vue-admin has arbitrary file upload vulnerability caused by path traversal IDs: CVE-2026-22786, GHSA-3558-j79f-vvm6 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-22786 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 15:14 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: High (CVSS 7.3) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor response not established. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Go github.com/flipped-aurora/gin-vue-admin: affected <= 2.8.7 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Go github.com/flipped-aurora/gin-vue-admin: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action No complete vendor fix is recorded. Follow the primary source's mitigation guidance and check this record again before closing anything. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on github.com/flipped-aurora/gin-vue-admin. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-3558-j79f-vvm6 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-3558-j79f-vvm6 lists affected ranges: Go github.com/flipped-aurora/gin-vue-admin >=0 <=2.8.7) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
