AdonisJS: Unencoded route parameters can produce open redirects
CVE-2026-107718GHSA-2m6q-8v3h-jqww
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (@adonisjs/http-server 9.3.0, 8.2.3), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description

Route parameters are inserted into generated URLs without URI encoding. When an application passes untrusted input to a route whose first path segment is dynamic, a value beginning with / can produce a scheme-relative URL. For example: This generates the following redirect: Browsers interpret this value as an external URL and redirect the user to https://evil.example.com. Details The shared createURL() helper is used by route URL builders, including Router.makeUrl() and Response.redirect().toRoute(). Route parameter values were appended without encoding: Wildcard parameters had the same behavior: The issue does not affect APIs that intentionally accept complete redirect URLs. Exploitation requires an application to pass attacker-controlled data as a route parameter and use the generated URL as a redirect destination. Impact An attacker may craft a link on a trusted application domain that redirects a victim to an attacker-controlled website. This can facilitate phishing and may be…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-107718 Advisory: AdonisJS: Unencoded route parameters can produce open redirects IDs: CVE-2026-107718, GHSA-2m6q-8v3h-jqww Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-107718 (revision 3, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 13:07 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 6.1) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: @adonisjs/http-server 9.3.0, 8.2.3. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm @adonisjs/http-server: affected >= 9.0.0, <= 9.2.0; <= 8.2.2; fixed in 9.3.0, 8.2.3 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls @adonisjs/http-server --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on @adonisjs/http-server. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-2m6q-8v3h-jqww (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-2m6q-8v3h-jqww lists affected ranges: npm @adonisjs/http-server >=9.0.0 =0 <=8.2.2) - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-2m6q-8v3h-jqww (OSV record GHSA-2m6q-8v3h-jqww lists affected ranges: npm @adonisjs/http-server >=9.0.0 =0 <8.2.3 (fixed)) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
