Eclipse Jetty: Cross-Request Leakage for trailers on HTTP/1.1 keep-alive connections
CVE-2026-10051GHSA-f4v5-65jj-pcr2
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server 12.1.10, 12.0.36), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Description FINDING — MEDIUM (HTTP/1.1 keep-alive connections with trailers) HttpConnection.trailers Cross-Request Leakage (Never Reset Between Requests) Location: jetty-core/jetty-server/src/main/java/org/eclipse/jetty/server/internal/ HttpConnection.java:107, 1157-1161, 1170 Detail: trailers (line 107) is a connection-scoped HttpFields.Mutable field. parsedTrailer() (line 1157) populates it when request N carries HTTP trailers. messageComplete() (line 1170) checks "if (trailers != null)" — evaluates true from request N's data — and stamps it onto request N+1. Grep confirms: ZERO occurrences of "trailers = null" in entire HttpConnection.java. Scenario: Request N: POST /upload (trailers: X-Checksum: abc123) Request N+1: GET /data (no trailers) app: request.getTrailers() on N+1 → returns {X-Checksum: abc123} ← STALE Application logic branching on getTrailers() != null produces incorrect behavior. Not cross-connection (same keep-alive connection only). More dangerous scenario: TOCTOU —…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2026-10051 Advisory: Eclipse Jetty: Cross-Request Leakage for trailers on HTTP/1.1 keep-alive connections IDs: CVE-2026-10051, GHSA-f4v5-65jj-pcr2 Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2026-10051 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 16:54 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 6.9) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server 12.1.10, 12.0.36. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Maven org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server: affected >= 12.0.0, <= 12.0.35; >= 12.1.0, <= 12.1.9; fixed in 12.0.36, 12.1.10 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Maven org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-f4v5-65jj-pcr2 (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-f4v5-65jj-pcr2 lists affected ranges: Maven org.eclipse.jetty:jetty-server >=12.0.0 =12.1.0 <=12.1.9) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
