The Mastra Docs MCP Server package @mastra/mcp-docs-server is a server designed to provide documentation context to AI agentic workflows, such as those used in AI-powered IDEs. Resources: Package URL: https://www.npmjs.com/package/@mastra/mcp-docs-server ----- Overview The @mastra/mcp-docs-server package in versions 0.13.18 and below is vulnerable to a Directory Traversal attack that results in the disclosure of directory listings. The code contains a security check to prevent path traversal for reading file contents, but this check is effectively bypassed by subsequent logic that attempts to find directory suggestions. An attacker can leverage this flaw to list the contents of arbitrary directories on the user's filesystem, including the user's home directory, exposing sensitive information about the file system's structure. ----- Vulnerability The tool's code attempts to prevent path traversal within the readMdxContent function. It correctly checks if the resolved path is within…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2025-61685 Advisory: Mastra Docs MCP Server `@mastra/mcp-docs-server` Leads to Information Exposure IDs: CVE-2025-61685, GHSA-xh92-rqrq-227v Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2025-61685 (revision 2, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 12:38 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 6.5) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: @mastra/mcp-docs-server 0.17.0. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - npm @mastra/mcp-docs-server: affected <= 0.13.8; fixed in 0.17.0 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - `npm ls @mastra/mcp-docs-server --all`: lists every installed copy and version, including transitive ones. Run in the project root after `npm ci`. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on @mastra/mcp-docs-server. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://osv.dev/vulnerability/GHSA-xh92-rqrq-227v (OSV record GHSA-xh92-rqrq-227v lists affected ranges: npm @mastra/mcp-docs-server >=0 <0.17.0 (fixed)) - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-xh92-rqrq-227v (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-xh92-rqrq-227v lists affected ranges: npm @mastra/mcp-docs-server >=0 <=0.13.8) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
