REDAXO allows Authenticated Reflected Cross Site Scripting - packages installation
CVE-2025-27412GHSA-8366-xmgf-334f
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (redaxo/source 5.18.3), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Source description
As published by the source; long descriptions are shortened.
Summary Reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) is a type of web vulnerability that occurs when a web application fails to properly sanitize user input, allowing an attacker to inject malicious code into the application's response to a user's request. When the user's browser receives the response, the malicious code is executed, potentially allowing the attacker to steal sensitive information or take control of the user's account. Details On the latest version of Redaxo, v5.18.2, the rex-api-result parameter is vulnerable to Reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) on the page of AddOns. PoC 1. Login Redaxo as administrative user. 2. Navigate to the URL: http://localhost/redaxo/index.php?page=packages&rex-api-call=package&&rex-api-result={%22succeeded%22%3Atrue%2C%22message%22%3A%22%3Cimg%20src=x%20onerror=alert(document.domain);%3E%22};%3E%22%7D), the XSS executes. Impact This can lead to various security risks, including session hijacking, phishing attacks and malware distribution.…

# Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2025-27412 Advisory: REDAXO allows Authenticated Reflected Cross Site Scripting - packages installation IDs: CVE-2025-27412, GHSA-8366-xmgf-334f Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2025-27412 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 14:29 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Medium (CVSS 6.1) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: redaxo/source 5.18.3. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Packagist redaxo/source: affected >= 5.0.0, < 5.18.3; fixed in 5.18.3 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Packagist redaxo/source: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on redaxo/source. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-8366-xmgf-334f (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-8366-xmgf-334f lists affected ranges: Packagist redaxo/source >=5.0.0 <5.18.3) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
