CVE-2023-32069GHSA-36fm-j33w-c25f
What to do
Vendor fix available. Upgrade each affected package to the fixed version on its release line (org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-test-ui 14.10.4), redeploy, then verify what is actually installed.
This page has no inventory attached, so it cannot say whether you are affected. A vendor fix is not proof that your deployment is fixed.

Impact It's possible for a user to execute anything with the right of the author of the XWiki.ClassSheet document. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Edit your user profile with the object editor and add an object of type DocumentSheetBinding with value Default Class Sheet 1. Edit your user profile with the wiki editor and add the syntax {{async}}{{groovy}}println("Hello " + "from groovy!"){{/groovy}}{{/async}} 1. Click "Save & View" Expected result: An error is displayed as the user doesn't have the right to execute the Groovy macro. Actual result: The text "Hello from groovy!" is displayed at the top of the document. Patches This has been patched in XWiki 15.0-rc-1 and 14.10.4. Workarounds There are no known workarounds for it. # Patch Next advisory brief: CVE-2023-32069 Advisory: Privilege escalation (PR)/RCE from account through class sheet IDs: CVE-2023-32069, GHSA-36fm-j33w-c25f Record: https://patchnext.com/advisories/cve-2023-32069 (revision 1, source checked 26 Oct 2026, 16:19 UTC) Inventory: none attached. This brief comes from a public page and does not say whether any deployment is affected. Severity: Critical (CVSS 9.9) Exploitation: no confirmed exploitation recorded. Patch Next confirms exploitation only from CISA KEV. Vendor response: Vendor fix available; fixed versions by package: org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-test-ui 14.10.4. A vendor fix does not mean a deployment is fixed. ## Affected components - Maven org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-test-ui: affected >= 3.3-milestone-3, < 14.10.4; fixed in 14.10.4 ## Suggested inspection (read-only) - Maven org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-test-ui: check the installed version with your package manager. ## Supported action Upgrade each affected component to a fixed version on its release line. For a transitive dependency, upgrade the parent package or add an override or constraint, then regenerate the lockfile. Redeploy every environment that ran an affected version. ## Required regression checks - Run the test suite and a production build. - Exercise the features that depend on org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-test-ui. - Repeat the inspection and confirm that only fixed versions remain installed. ## Rollback considerations - Keep the previous lockfile and deployment artifact. Rolling back reinstates the vulnerable version, so apply any documented mitigation while you fix forward. ## Unresolved questions - Which deployments run an affected version? - Exploitation status can change. Check again before lowering the priority. - Mark the work resolved only after the fixed version is verified in production. ## Sources - Verified: https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-36fm-j33w-c25f (GitHub-reviewed advisory GHSA-36fm-j33w-c25f lists affected ranges: Maven org.xwiki.platform:xwiki-platform-test-ui >=3.3-milestone-3 <14.10.4) Commands are suggestions: review each one before running it.
